Free dementia awareness session at Fulham Library

People living in Hammersmith and Fulham now have the opportunity to find out more about dementia, thanks to a free awareness workshop.

Dementia can happen to anyone and there's currently no cure. It can strip you of your memory, your relationships and your connection to the world you love, leaving you feeling isolated and alone. During the week of 14th to 20th May The Alzheimers Society are promoting Dementia Awareness week.

Funding awarded for the Last Rights project

The £25,000 funding award from the Martin Lewis Fund announced last week will help Kensington & Chelsea Citizens Advice to deliver the Last Rights project. This will provide help and encourage people to make end-of-life plans, in ways which could be rolled out across other parts of the country.

'Please offer me a seat' scheme launched

Transport for London are launching the 'Please offer me a seat' badge and card for people who find it difficult to stand when using public transport. The badge and accompanying card were created for customers who struggle to get a seat, as their need is not immediately obvious, removing the awkwardness of customers having to explain their need for a seat to others.

A review of dozens of previous studies found that even one session of moderate aerobic and resistance activity is enough to enhance people's alertness, decision-making and memory.
