People First Provider Approval Process

 

Welcome! This section tells you about the last stage of registration and what documents you need to upload as part of the approval process.

Once you have been approved, it is at this point your service will appear on the website.

In order to be approved you will need to:

  • Identify the category of business you are intending to provide (you will have done this in the first stage of registering but you can change this if wrong) 
  • upload the required documentation specified in the listing below e.g. if you are a provider of supported living services then you will need to upload your CQC registration certificate and Public Liability Certificate of Insurance.

NB: All certificates of Insurance for all categories of approval must have a Public Liability Indemnity of no less than 5 Million Pounds

For 2- Approval, the tables below show which documents you will need to upload. You will have specified which categor(ies) in the first part of registration.

Nursing & Residential Homes

These are services that are regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. The services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and will be subject to adherence to regulatory framework.

Copies of original documents required by one or more of the above authorities are defined within the pick list which must be uploaded. Such documents are required for validation by officers of the Council(s) concerned to ensure that the relevant checks are being completed to ensure that service users / carers can be reassured of the quality of service.

Domiciliary Care Providers

Sometimes known as Homecare; these are services that are regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. The services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and will be subject to adherence to regulatory framework.

Copies of original documents required by one or more of the above authorities are defined within the pick list which must be uploaded. Such documents are required for validation by officers of the Council(s) concerned to ensure that the relevant checks are being completed to ensure that service users / carers can be reassured of the quality of service.

Supported Living

This is a range of services provided in specific accommodation. These are services that are regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. The services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and will be subject to adherence to regulatory framework

Copies of original documents required by one or more of the above authorities are defined within the pick list which must be uploaded. Such documents are required for validation by officers of the Council(s) concerned to ensure that the relevant checks are being completed to ensure that service users / carers can be reassured of the quality of service.

These Services are those that are commissioned using a tender process from one or more of the above authorities. Some services may be regulated services as defined above. Other services include services such as Meals and Day Care and are not currently regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

** please note:If you are a private hire taxi company we will only require every driver's name and operational licence (badge) number in place of CRB disclosure documents and copies of drivers' licences. Private hire companies should also provide a copy of their Operator's Licence. For owner drivers with a hackney licence we will only require details of your operational licence (badge) number.

 * Insurance includes: Public Liability Insurance with an indemnity of no less than ?5 Million 

 These services are defined as a range of services to enable people to access activities in local communities for instance: Social Activities which may include Leisure Centres, Public Houses, Cinema, Local organised coffee mornings, Garden Centres, Museums, Specific interest groups. Such services are not subject to contractual agreement with the above local authorities nor are they subject to regulatory framework by CQC.

 Copies of original documents required by the above authorities are defined within the pick list which must be uploaded. Such documents are required for validation by officers of the Council(s) concerned to ensure, that the relevant checks are being completed to ensure that service users / carers can be reassured of the quality of service. In relation to activities which require CRB disclosures- providers are required to state that they hold a CRB disclosure for each member of staff. 

 Trading Standards

If you are a Micro-provider employing 5 people or less OR a sole trader delivering services within the Tri-Borough area your details and service information will be forwarded to the relevant Trading Standards department for vetting checks and approval. Trading Standards will also be available to offer advice, support and resources.

These services are neither subject to regulatory framework nor contractual arrangements with one or more of the above authorities. 

Each user / carer to complete their own checks i.e. references, check local voluntary organisations, trade associations etc.

However, if the service provider is required to enter the home the service provision becomes subject to the controls in category 4 (see above) e.g. the provider uses their own delivery team.
