Mobility scheme

The Motability Scheme was established to provide disabled people with safe, reliable and affordable cars, powered wheelchairs or scooters.

You exchange the mobility allowance element of any disability benefit which you may receive for a worry-free contract to hire, or hire-purchase a vehicle and mobility package. The package usually includes insurance, servicing, tyres and breakdown cover. Adaptations and wheelchair-accessible vehicles are also available. The applicant can be the driver of the car, or apply as a passenger. Parents and carers can also apply on behalf of a child.
