Things to do

Going out, having fun and meeting people are a really important part of our lives, but doing these things can be more difficult as we get older or if we have significant health problems. And If we find it hard to go out and do the things we enjoy, it can make us feel lonely, bored or depressed.

But there are plenty of things for you to do in your area that  will suit your particular needs. You could pick back up an old hobby or try something completely new!

In this section you'll find ideas for social activities in your local community, including community events, interest groups, day centres and drop-in centres, and more.

Select from one of the options in the left-hand menu or browse through the items in the boxes to the right to get some ideas.

And if you are feeling energetic or want to improve your fitness you can also look at our page on Exercise and Sport.

If you fancy going back into education then remember that it's never too late, and that there are classes which are accessible for everyone -  have a look at our section on Accessing Education.

And you can also take a look at our Events section which gives details on all kinds of events in your area.
