Below is a range of information, organisations and support groups who may be able to help. Support groups give you the chance to talk to other people who may be experiencing similar problems. They can often suggest different ways of coping.

Mind is the UK's largest mental health charity. It provides information and advice to people with mental health problems, and aims to ensure that no-one with a mental health problem has to face that problem alone.
Your local branch of Mind can put you in touch with a range of support groups that may be able to help you.

Good Thinking is an online wellbeing website which provides a range of resources to help Londoners improve their mental wellbeing, including free NHS-approved apps, articles, blogs, podcasts, self-assessments, videos and workbooks.

The Muslim Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) is an affiliation of 7 Muslim mental health organisations working together to create, support and signpost to mental health resources, services, and therapeutic support tailored for our Muslim communities, placing Muslim mental health at the heart of their work.

One You Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster provide personal healthy lifestyle coaching and group support sessions that will help you to make positive changes and improve your health and wellbeing. Their Healthy Hearts and Minds programme will work with you to develop stress management tools, learn mindfulness techniques and understand how to make sustainable changes to your lifestyle..

Our Time is a charity that provides support and interventions for children and young people affected by parental mental illness.
They currently have a multi-family workshop ("KidsTime Workshop") operating in Westminster at the Bessborough Centre in Pimlico.

Kensington and Chelsea Mind  also host

  • their Side by Side online forum is a supportive online community where you can be yourself, a safe place to listen, share and be heard. Whether you're feeling good right now, or really low, it's a safe place to share experiences and listen to others.
  • and Peer Support - a range of peer support services, as part of Community Living Well, including one-to-one peer support, peer support groups, living well workshops, timebanking, social and on-line peer support. Peer support training

Rethink is a mental health charity which aims to challenge attitudes and change lives, helping people living with conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and more to recover a better quality of life.

The Advance Charity support women who are experiencing a variety of of different issues, including mental health issues.

SANE is a UK mental health charity who work to improve quality of life for anyone affected by mental illness.
They provide a mental health support line from 4pm to 10pm every day of the year - tel: 0300 304 7000.

Age UK offer information on accessing counselling and talking therapies, and have produced a factsheet called You are not alone.

The Samaritans provide confidential non-judgemental support, 24 hours a day for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair - call FREE on 116 123.

Different Voices, a now closed mental health user involvement at The Advocacy Project, produced a directory of services in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea, based on their service users' experiences which is still usefull.

Easy read buttonThe Easy Health  website has gathered together various videos and easy-read leaflets which will help people with learning disabilities to understand more about various aspects mental health and mental health care.

The Counselling Directory offers:-

  • A nationwide database of counsellors and psychotherapists who are members of a recognised professional body.
  • A detailed library of fact-sheets featuring information about how counselling might be able to help with what's worrying you.
  • types of therapy section that explains the different models of counselling and psychotherapy that are used by practitioners.

The Medical Foundation for the care of victims of torture offers emotional and physical support for those who have suffered torture.
