Become a Shared Lives Carer

Shared Lives is a scheme run by the charity, Grace Eyre which  was selected by the Tri Borough of, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster to provide good quality housing for people with learning disabilities.

Shared Lives enables people with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues to live in a family environment within the community. It's a similar scheme to Fostering .  Carers are paid between £300 and £500 per week.  Grace Eyre need to urgently recruit carers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to become carers. They don't need to have any qualifications or previous experience, what they do need is a caring attitude and a big heart to allow someone to live with them. They can live in rented property or be owner occupier but they must have a spare bedroom . There is also no age limit on becoming a carer. It is something that a young parent can do as well as someone recently retired.

If you would like to find out more about the scheme, you can attend an information event on Tuesday 29th November 2016, 6.15-7.30pm at Westway Trust, 1 Thorpe Close, Ladbroke Grove, London, W10 5XL.
