World Health Day

World Health Day

Each year there is a specific theme for World Health Day. The theme for World Health Day 2020 is to support nurses and midwives because of the contribution they  make in making the world a healthier place. This year even more so in light of the continuing coronavirus pandemic

"Nurses are the unsung heroes of the Covid-19 response. The invaluable role they have played is testimony of their sacrifice, courage and commitment to a healthier and safer world,"
Takeshi Kasai, WHO Regional Director

We are honouring the Nurses and other health workers who are putting their own health at risk to protect the broader community at the forefront of COVID-19 response.

To support our Nurses, health workers and the NHS, please stay at home and follow Government guidelines to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
