Simran workshop and exhibition walk - KCL -Tuesday 10 October (LIBR)

KC LIB simran

< p>In person workshop and museum visit at Kensington Central Library
Afternoon: Tuesday 10 October, 3pm to 5pm<
Evenings: Fridays 6 and 13 October, 6pm to 8pm

Join us for an introduction to Simran - a focused practice for the mind, delivered by ‘Without Shape Without Form’, a volunteer-led arts organisation that fosters genuine exchange and dialogue around art, spirituality and mental health through contemporary Sikh teachings. The essence of this approach is not to teach a temporary peaceful state of mind - Simran instead brings us a permanent clarity about our reality and the nature of our true self. When this clarity is in place, the beautiful state of peace arises in us naturally and effortlessly.

The session will begin with a 1-hour workshop, which will cover how and why Simran works, offer a chance to try it together and leave you with some best practices to take away. After the workshop, we will walk to the V&A Museum to explore the current exhibition Unstruck Melody, a collaboration with British-born Canadian Artist Nirbhai (Nep) Singh Sidhu, which brings together practices of spirituality and transferring knowledge into a newly conceived installation. Bring a friend, work colleague or the family and experience this together..
