Kensington And Chelsea Mental Health Befriending
If you are stuck at home, feeling lonely or isolated, would love to get out and about but have no one to go with our Befriending scheme may provide the type of support you need.
The service matches users with volunteer Befrienders from the local community. Once matched you will meet up once a week to socialise, and get practical support in developing the social life you would like for yourself. Each “Befriending’ relationship is for six months and support is provided to ensure both service user and befriender have a safe enjoyable time.
All volunteer befrienders receive excellent training, and the opportunity to gain the Mental Health First Aid qualification. Regular support and supervision to volunteer is provided
The befriending service is provided by Hestia
