Different Strokes

Different Strokes is a charity run by younger stroke survivors for younger stroke survivors 

Recovery and rehabilitation from stroke present specific and complex challenges for the younger survivor and his/her family.  One day fit and well, the next moment on sick leave; often with a young family to support and relying on limited opportunities for employment for income rather than a pension. Younger stroke survivors must come to terms with physical and emotional changes as well as significant lifestyle adjustments - mobility, job, income, dependence, relationships – and these changes come with little or no warning.

Different Strokes is still very largely managed and staffed by younger stroke survivors and those with close personal experience of stroke.
