Open to all UK HE students, Central London Assessment Services (CLASS) is London’s largest and most experienced Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) assessment centre. As an organisation they have been supporting students with disabilities since 1986, and have carried out higher education DSA assessments for 25 years.
In this time their team of assessors have provided tens of thousands of assessments of need, across all areas of disability. These include specific learning difficulties, physical disability, mental health, and visual and hearing impairment. Many of their assessors come to CLASS with a background in disability support, ranging from physiotherapy to counselling, RNIB training and dyslexia tuition. When you book an appointment with CLASS, you will be assigned to an assessor with experience of your particular needs.
Their central London offices include air-conditioned assessment rooms equipped with the latest assistive technology and ergonomic furniture. In addition, they offer assessments at their fully equipped outreach centres on their Harrow & Marylebone campuses; at their Chiswick Sports Ground; at London South Bank University; and at Queen Mary, University of London. they test all equipment, so anything they recommend has been evaluated by us first. And the assessment process is not a ‘one-off’ experience – they offer you support throughout your educational path, as your needs change.
Whether you need to book an appointment, track the progress of a report, or learn more about the DSA, CLASS’s admin team is on call from 9:00am-5pm, Monday to Friday. If they don’t have the answer, they’ll try to find somebody who does!
