The Neighbourhood Sports Club programme provides up to 150 hours of free or low-cost activities for people who live, work or study in Westminster each week.

Westminster’s parks and open spaces offer a mix of historic gardens, urban parks, and tranquil riverside walkways.

Parks and open spaces can be used to relax, exercise, and enjoy nature and support wellbeing.

Active Westminster discount Card

The ActiveWestminster Discount Card is free for all residents, providing fantastic discounts and benefits available for all our residents and children & young people who live or study in Westminster.

You might qualify for free swimming. Even if you don’t qualify for free swimming, the ActiveWestminster Discount Card  provides a fantastic range of savings, including:

  • Discounted gym memberships
  • Reduced rates for exercise classes
  • Special prices on sports facility bookings
  • Access to community events and fitness programs

Physical activity referral scheme

FREE 12-week physical activity referral scheme (PARs) that is available to help support, guide, and motivate inactive people who maybe struggling with their mental and physical health. The scheme has been designed to help you become healthier and more physically active. It does this by encouraging you to get more physically active both within the programme and beyond the participation and you are supported in taking more control over your own health.

One You

One You Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster is a free local lifestyle service, designed to support residents in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. The service is designed to reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease and lifestyle-related cancers.

The service provide helps to:

  • exercise more
  • eat more healthily
  • lose weight
  • stop smoking
  • reduce alcohol intake
  • improve mental health

Sport for Confidence

Sport for Confidence support people who encounter barriers or challenges when they want to be more active. They work locally and nationally in spaces and places making use of the combined expertise of participants, occupational therapists and sports coaches, working together to ensure systems and services are able to meet the needs of diverse communities.

Ways to wellbeing

Physical activity can improve your mental health. The Ways to Wellbeing hub explores free or low-cost mental health and emotional wellbeing support in Westminster and some UK wide service and apps. 

Local support is offered to everyone living, working, or studying in Westminster. Whether for you or for someone else, our support services cover a wide range of issues and concerns.


Open Age

Open Age provides opportunities for members to take part in meaningful activities, strengthen their sense of community, rediscover old hobbies, find new ones, make new friends, and most of all, have fun! 

By doing this they can combat loneliness and isolation and improve the health and wellbeing of older Londoners. Programs include, but are not limited to:  

  • A variety of physical activities from chair exercise to yoga/Pilates and dance based exercise 
  • Link-up: meets with person 1:1 to understand what their interests are and helps them overcome barriers to join in our group-based activities. 
  • Men’s Space:  a dedicated programme for men only ranging from physical activity sessions to music and cooking 
  • Time for Me:  a programme of activities for unpaid carers 
  • Steady and Stable: clinical exercise programme for those who may have fallen or are at risk of falling 
  • Osteo Blast:  clinical exercise programme for those with Osteoporosis/Osteopenia 
  • Healthy Lungs:  clinical exercise programme for those with diagnosed lung health conditions
